Access to electricity/PERACE: 36,000 new households and businesses connected to the electricity network in the first quarter of 2025

New connections made by Eneo during this quarter bring the number of businesses and households with secure access to electricity to 2,227,000, and will certainly further improve the rate of access to electricity for the country's residents. This rate was estimated at 75% by the end of 2024.
By installing 36,000 new connections in the first quarter of 2025, Eneo has connected 9,000 more homes and businesses than it did during the same period in 2024. This represents a 33% increase rate. This positive trend is driven by the deployment of the PERACE Project, which has improved the supply of connection kits, and by the better organization of Eneo teams that are in charge of installing the connections. This initiative has also had a positive impact on completion times. From an average of 18 days to complete a connection in September 2024 to 05 days to date, the company has significantly reduced the number of instances of customers waiting for a connection to be completed after payment of their connection deposit.
These figures reflect the excellent progress made by the PERACE Project, which has also received congratulations from the World Bank. ‘The World Bank has commended us for the sound management of the project. In fact, the connection target was set at 163,000, i.e., 50,000 in 2022, 63,000 in 2023 and 50,0000 in 2024. To date, we have connected 261,278 households and businesses. This is well above target,’ says Jacques Dellors Pagboum, Eneo’s expert in charge of access to electricity
