MAJOR REINFORCEMENT WORKS ON THE DISTRIBUTION NETWORKS IN DOUALA AND YAOUNDE

Douala, 11 February 2019

As part of its 2019 investment program, Eneo Cameroon is carrying out major works to reinforce and safeguard the network in the cities of Douala and Yaounde.

The main purpose is to replace 170 kilometres of aerial and underground medium-voltage line sections to double their power transit capacity and increase the safety of facilities. Concrete poles will be used in constructing the overhead power lines.

Given the overloaded state of some equipment on our distribution network, the Board of Directors approved an investment budget of CFAF 47.3 billion for 2019 (more than 30% compared to 2018). CFAF 26.2 billion was allocated for the renewal, reinforcement, safety and extension of the electricity distribution networks.

The objective pursued through the implementation of this action plan is to increase the supply capacity and significantly improve the availability of electricity in these cities.

These works will last for five months and also require power cuts for safety reasons.

Eneo Cameroon would like to thank its customers for their understanding and support for the inconveniences that they will face due to power outages in some areas of Douala and Yaounde throughout the duration of these works.

The programme of these works will be communicated gradually in the Works and Power Cuts space on www.eneocameroon.cm. Please, contact the Eneo Customer Relations Centre on 8010 or the WhatsApp number 699119911 for more information.
